Megan Ann Rasmussen on why he wanted to produce Harmony on Broadway

Dec 28, 2023

Megan Ann Rasmussen is an award-winning producer, director, and educator and she is currently a co-producer on Harmony: A New Musical. Below Megan Ann has shared a bit about what drew her to Harmony.

The reasons I first chose to produce Harmony, is different from why I’m proud to produce Harmony today.

I attended an early rehearsal of Harmony in the Fall of 2021.

Warren Carlyle walked us through what would be the first moments of the show.  I was wowed.  The 6 actors playing the Comedian Harmonists (Sean Bell, Danny Kornfield, Zal Owen, Eric Peters, Blake Roman, and Steven Telsey) sang, acted, and danced their way into my heart. Their synergy was evident immediately.

Next, Danny sang Every Single Day.  His voice on this beautifully arranged song by Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussman inspired me. The music was so powerful!  I knew I wanted to be a part of this production.

Today, however, it’s even more personal.

Who knew, then, that strife would rage across the globe? Who knew that today we would need hope in such a way?

In a war-torn world, and especially during the holidays, I am a producer on Harmony because this is my message of hope.

I have hope that there can still be joy in anguish.

I have hope that there can still be peace in conflict.

I have hope in the healing power of laughter, singing, dancing, and sharing a story together.

We need more opportunities to learn from one another, and nothing does this better than theater.

I’m proud of the story of Harmony.  Its bold display of courage and the spirit of resiliency gives me hope. I hope it brings you hope, too.
